Julie M. Gallery is an Israeli gallery established in 1975, a gallery entirely committed to the harsh materials of the here-and-now, dedicated to the intertwining of the worldwide and the local art scene. The art we have exhibited has integrated a selective section of the younger generation’s activity with that of a constant nucleus of gallery artists. Many of the exhibiting artists were then “new faces” in the art world, without any guarantee of success. Most of them have eventually become prominent figures in the Israeli art scene and some have achieved international recognition as well.
Adi Cabili, daughter of Julie Mamom the founder, took over Julie M. gallery in 2003, following the contemporary breeze which characterized the activity in the gallery over the years. In 2007, the gallery relocated to a new renovated space at the heart of Tel-Aviv. The Julie M gallery has opened recently a branch in Toronto, Canada, which offers at once 330 sqm. of space facilities, support needed for professional exhibitions, as well as the enhancement of the relationship between artists, galleries, collectors, students and the public. Often exhibitions are accompanied by a 'gallery talk' which usually includes the exhibiting artist and the collaborating curator as well as other figures from the humanities. These talks are open to the public and usually attract collectors, curators and writers.
Focusing on new, stimulating and intriguing art, the gallery is dedicated to the promotion of Israeli artists in international fields and to the intertwining of the worldwide and the local art scene.
